My Dreamy Wedding by the Lake: The Perfect Custom Wedding Dress and Cathedral Bridal Veil
Share
I just had the wedding of my dreams by the serene lake, wearing my custom-made wedding dress and a cathedral-length bridal veil, both designed just for me. It was a beautiful Saturday with a perfect temperature of 70°F. My design team had mentioned that my wedding dress had six layers, which initially made me nervous about walking down the aisle. I feared the dress would feel too heavy, but to my surprise, it was light and airy, even with all those layers.
For my veil, I chose a 3D Dusty Pink Flowers Bridal Veil in cathedral length, to complement the wedding theme of dusty pink, various shades of pink, red, and white. I had originally considered a veil with 3D Coral Flowers, thinking it would suit the Spring theme. However, after discussing it with my aunt, who also did my makeup, she convinced me that the 3D Dusty Pink Flowers Bridal Veil fit the theme better. She was right! I have no regrets about that decision. It added the perfect touch to my look.
I’ll never forget the moment I walked down the aisle in my custom-made wedding dress and the long cathedral veil. As I approached, I could see my husband’s awe-struck expression and hear the gasps and “Awww...” from the guests. The music of the Bridal March, played by my talented cousins on the violin and cello, only added to the magical atmosphere. Later, after the ceremony, a few friends in their 20s, came up to me and asked, "Where did you get your wedding veil? It's so stunning, and we love the length!"
My aunts also couldn’t resist taking more photos of me in front of the cypress trees along the lake, as the golden sunset bathed us in its glow. One of my favorite moments was when my aunt gently removed the wedding veil for a few photos of just my hair. Looking back at those photos, I was amazed by how different I looked with and without the veil. The veil truly made my bridal look complete.
As a minimalist, I had initially thought about keeping my wedding look simple, even considering not wearing a veil at all. My mom had even commented that I didn’t need such a long, embellished veil. But after the wedding, she admitted that she was so glad I chose the cathedral-length veil. I’m so thankful I listened to my heart and went with the veil; it added something truly special to my day. I have no regrets about that decision and will always cherish the memory of wearing it.
Here are some photos to celebrate the day.
