When she first came to Nhu’s Chic Boutique, she told us one thing clearly:
“I want a black wedding dress. Mermaid style for my reception, with a detachable train for the ceremony.”
Her wedding was planned around the Halloween season, and she wanted her gown to reflect mystery, elegance, and strength—something timeless, but never ordinary.
From Vision to Sketch
Our journey began the way every true couture piece should.
Together, we created five original sketches for black wedding dress, exploring silhouettes, proportions, and drama. The goal was to design a gown that could transform throughout the day—ceremonial grandeur first, then sleek confidence for the celebration.
Once the final sketch was chosen, we carefully selected fabrics that could:
- Sculpt a mermaid silhouette
- Flow effortlessly with an attachable train/ detachable train wedding dress
- Capture light beautifully in deep black tones
- Balance romance with edge
Every decision was intentional. Every detail mattered.
Two Looks. One Dress.
For the ceremony, the gown featured a detachable black train, creating a dramatic, almost gothic elegance as she walked through her vows. The train added movement, presence, and a sense of occasion—perfect for a fall wedding surrounded by nature and autumn light.
For the reception, the train was removed, revealing a fitted mermaid gown that hugged her figure and allowed her to move freely, dance, and celebrate the night. One dress. Two moments. One powerful statement.
A Bride Who Redefined Bridal
Her final look was breathtaking.
The black gown contrasted beautifully with the outdoor setting, proving that bridal doesn’t have to be white to be timeless. Her confidence, her tattoos, her presence—all came together in a way that felt deeply personal and authentic.
